Imaging Services
Harrison County Community Hospital has been at the forefront of using digital diagnostic imagery in Northwest Missouri. Our Imaging Department offers a variety of digital diagnostic imaging tools that allow for the highest quality results while maximizing patient convenience and comfort.
Our Radiology Department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing digitally produced, high-quality X-rays and scans. Our PACS system allows us to transfer digitized images to our radiologists and physicians at other facilities.
The Radiology Department at HCCH is a highly specialized, full-service department offering CT Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Reduced-Radiation Digital Mammography with iCAD Detection, DEXA, Bone Densitometry, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), as well as other general Radiology, X-Ray, and Fluoroscopy exams.
When you need radiology services, ask us whether HCCH can save you a trip to a larger facility by doing the same procedure close to home.
Imaging Services Offered
Digital Mammography with iCAD
Digital mammography, offered at HCCH since April 2009, uses a low-dose X-Ray to identify abnormalities in breast tissue. Additionally, we utilize iCAD (computer-aided detection), which focuses on suspicious areas of the breast, allowing us to provide the most advanced offerings in breast health technology.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a simple, safe, painless diagnostic procedure that bounces high- frequency sound waves off parts of the body and captures the returning “echoes” as images. Harrison County Community Hospital offers a full realm of ultrasound services including pelvic, carotid doppler, testicular, thyroid, abdominal, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and vascular/doppler.
CT Scan
A computerized axial tomography (CT or cat scan) is a diagnostic procedure using x-ray equipment to obtain detailed cross-sectional images of vessels and bones in the body. Our new 80-slice CT scanner, installed in March 2014, utilizes the latest technology to dramatically improve the diagnostic efficiency and reduce patients' exposure to radiation.
X-Rays
In the summer of 2013 we installed new digital X-Ray equipment, which eliminated the need for X-Ray film. High-quality digital X-Ray images are quickly and efficiently trasmitted electronically to the radiologist who will read them.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI is an imaging method used by radiologists to view internal body structures using combinations of radio waves and magnetic fields, in a noninvasive way. The three-dimensional images created by MRI display the soft tissues of the body, including the brain, spinal cord, and muscle.
Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine uses radioactive materials, which are safely administered to the patient, providing imagery of the organ being studied and information regarding the proficiency at which it is functioning.
Bone Densitometry
Bone densitometry, a noninvasive technology, allows radiologists to measure overall bone mass or the density of a specific area of the skeleton.
